Constant and Unfailing Love

May those who are wise think about these things; may they consider the Lord’s constant love. Psalm 107:3 GNT
Anger, bitterness, disappointment, outrage, and hopelessness are clear in the cultural expression of our times. Even more so, and we’re still in the beginning of 2025. Why? There is often a missing ingredient in the psyche of man: the love of God.
When we take retribution into our own hands, feed ourselves with substances or ideas that merely soothe our bruised egos, envy others, strive to get ahead at any cost or harm to others, or lose hope, we reveal that we have either forgotten, misunderstood, or never grasped this essential truth: the unconditional and unfailing love of God renders all our false emotions meaningless.
Think about our emotional tendencies. If we honestly self-examine ourselves, will most of our behavioral problems and psychological flaws come from an insecurity deep within? However, if we, the redeemed of the Lord Jesus, are thoroughly convinced of God’s constant love––the unflinching goodness which He has shown us before the dawn of creation––then we would lose the basis of most of our insecurities. Anyone who has immersed themselves in the immeasurable love of God is wise, fearless, and secure. They have no reason to envy; no desire for revenge; no reason to fear; no time for pettiness; and no cause for self-promotion.
Read Psalm 107. Are you wandering in a wasteland (v. 4)?
Are you suffering in chains, imprisoned by a darkened mindset? (v. 10)
Have you been rebellious because of your own unrighteous choices? (v. 17)
Has the storms of life threatened your safety? (v. 25) There is a wise response! Verses 6, 13, 19, and 28 record it: “They cried out to the LORD in their trouble.”
The solution is always deliverance when there is a cry! Why? Because God’s love is unfailing and unconditional. This psalm gives the solution five times. Human nature tells us to hide when we are in trouble and disobey God’s command (Genesis 3:8-10). If only Adam had cried out instead of hiding.
Following God’s Word and adhering to biblical principles is infinitely wiser than following fallen human nature. The next time or even now, if you are in distress, grab hold of and cling to one unchangeable truth: the constant, unfailing love of God for humanity made possible by the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus the Christ.
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, “and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.
